Spring Trail Etiquette

March 16, 2021 8:01 PM | Margaret Law (Administrator)

With spring just around the corner, spring trail conditions are here. Please do not rut the trails. As the temperature fluctuates and the frost starts to leave the ground, the trails are very susceptible to damage. If you are leaving ruts of half an inch or more, please DO NOT RIDE.

Dufferin County has a ½” depression Bylaw governing DCF and Mono, HAFTA asks riders “When the trail is soft, consider other riding options”, and Hydrocut has closed their trails for a while during the freeze/thaw cycle. Although we do not normally close the Erin or Inglewood trails during spring riding conditions, our trail stewards would really appreciate it if you considered other riding options.
